Pastor Jeremiah

Sowing In 2009 – God Has A Provision

Seedtime and Harvest

Genesis 8:22 - While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and

cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not

cease.

The scripture says seedtime and harvest and not harvest

and seedtime.  If you ponder this scripture you can see that

you can have day without the night, you can have heat with-

out the cold,, you can have summer without winter. Neither

is dependent upon the other to exist; however, we can never

have a harvest if we do not have a seedtime.  Seedtime is the

right time to sow seed into the expectation of the harvest.

The harvest (provision) is dependent upon God but the sowing

is dependent upon us.

1 Corinthians 3:7 - So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

God has challenged HUM in 2009 to sow.  Did He not know that

the economy would be failing in 2009?  Yes, He knows all and

He knows the hearts of man.  Has He changed since the

inception of HUM in 2000?  No, He changes not.  So why are so

few sowing and sowing so little?  The worries and troubles of this

world have gotten the Christian out of focus.  God has the

provision but we will not see it without “sowing” faith.  The kind of

faith that says my God is able to provide for me no matter what He

asks of me.  Are you listening?  He is Jehovah Jireh, He was

Jehovah Jireh, and He will be Jehovah Jireh.

Psalms 132:13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for

his habitation. 14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have

desired it. 15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her

poor with bread. 16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her

saints shall shout aloud for joy.

Why are the saints shouting for joy?  They are at rest and God

has abundantly blessed their provision, but most of all they are

saved and satisfied.

Psalms 119:57 - Thou art my portion, O LORD:

Psalms 142:5 - I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

Pray to the Lord of the harvest.

Prayer Ministry

The one thing that holds this ministry and our work together is our prayer ministry headed up by Karen Page and the prayer team known as the Twelve Disciples.  Did you know that our prayer register has over 300 requests to date?  Each of the names is called out to the Lord everyday not just on Wednesday.  It is a humbling thing to call out 300 names to the Lord knowing that you need as much prayer as any of these names.  Many people will be touched by the Lord through Hands Up Ministry who otherwise might never attend church.

 MISSIONS AT WORK

INVESTMENT FOR AN ETERNITY
By
Tom Meadows

I want you to know that six of the fifteen HUM members responded to the call of God to give the $500.  I still believe there are nine that heard and did not obey but that is between them and God.  Because the nine have not responded does not change what the Lord has spoken to me in the Spirit.

As I write for this section this edition, I am puzzled that no one has come forward led of the Holy Spirit to give to the mission’s effort.  I know the economy of earth is bad currently but the economy of Heaven if rich to those that are children of the King.

According to Psalm 50 my Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

One final word; sowing season never ends but harvest time ends when we as Christian stop sowing.  HUM is not alone in this matter, for the local church is existing on what it can see in its hand and that is not faith.

Pray for our churches in the Dominican Republic.

Holy Alphabet

Although things are not perfect

Because of trial or pain

Continue in thanksgiving

Do not begin to blame

Even when the times are hard

Fierce winds are bound to blow

God is forever able

Hold on to what you know

Imagine life without His love

Joy would cease to be

Keep thanking Him for all the things

Love imparts to thee

Move out of 'Camp Complaining'

No weapon that is known

On earth can yield the power

       Holy Alphabet (continued)

Praise can do alone

Quit looking at the future

Redeem the time at hand

Start every day with worship

To 'thank' is a command

Until we see Him coming

Victorious in the sky

We'll run the race with gratitude

Xalting God most high

Yes, there'll be good times and yes some

will be bad, but...

Installing Love

Tech Support:  Yes, ... how can I help you?

Customer:  Well, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love. Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support:  The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Is it okay to install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running ?

Customer:  Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support:   No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer   disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off ?

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

            Installing Love (continued)

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer:  Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components."  What should I do?

Tech Support:  Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files:   Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support:  Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will   overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer:  Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support:  Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool   modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you, God.

Church HUMor

 1

After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car..
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,
'That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys.'

2

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.  The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.  Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
'If Jesus were sitting here, He would say,
'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
' Ryan, you be Jesus!'

3

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they
were on the way to church service,
'And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?'
One bright little girl replied,
'Because people are sleeping.'

Out of the mouth of babies!

Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Does this count?

Mark 10:14 - But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Shoes in church

I showered and shaved............. I adjusted my tie.
I got there and sat............. In a pew just in time.
Bowing my head in prayer......... As I closed my eyes.
I saw the shoe of the man next to me..... Touching my own. I sighed.
With plenty of room on either side...... I thought, 'Why must our soles touch?'
It bothered me, his shoe touching mine... But it didn't bother him much.
A prayer began: 'Our Father'............. I thought, 'This man with the shoes,  has no pride.
They're dusty, worn, and scratched. Even worse, there are holes on the side!'
'Thank You for blessings,' the prayer went on.

The shoe man said............... A quiet 'Amen.'
I tried to focus on the prayer....... But my thoughts were on his shoes again.
Aren't we supposed to look our best. When walking through that door?
'Well, this certainly isn't it,' I thought, Glancing toward the floor.
Then the prayer was ended........... And the songs of praise began.
The shoe man was certainly loud...... Sounding proud as he sang.
His voice lifted the rafters......... His hands were raised high.
The Lord could surely hear. The shoe man's voice from the sky.
It was time for the offering....... And what I threw in was steep.
I watched as the shoe man reached.... Into his pockets so deep.
I saw what was pulled out.......... What the shoe man put in.
Then I heard a soft 'clink' . As when silver hits tin.
The sermon really bored me........ To tears, and that's no lie.
It was the same for the shoe man... For tears fell from his eyes.
At the end of the service...... As is the custom here.
We must greet new visitors, And show them all good cheer.

Shoes in church (continued)

But I felt moved somehow............. And wanted to meet the shoe man.
So after the closing prayer....... I reached over and shook his hand.
He was old and his skin was dark.... And his hair was truly a mess.
But I thanked him for coming......... For being our guest.

He said, 'My names' Charlie.......... I'm glad to meet you, my friend.'
There were tears in his eyes....... But he had a large, wide grin.
'Let me explain,' he said......... Wiping tears from his eyes.
'I've been coming here for months.... And you're the first to say 'Hi.''
'I know that my appearance.........'Is not like all the rest.
'But I really do try.................'To always look my best.'
'I always clean and polish my shoes..'Before my very long walk.
'But by the time I get here.........'They're dirty and dusty, like chalk.'
My heart filled with pain........... And I swallowed to hide my tears.
As he continued to apologize......... For daring to sit so near
He said, 'When I get here...........'I know I must look a sight.
'But I thought if I could touch you..'Then maybe our souls might unite.'
I was silent for a moment........... Knowing whatever was said
Would pale in comparison... I spoke from my heart, not my head.
'Oh, you've touched me,' I said......'And taught me, in part;
'That the best of any man............'Is what is found in his heart.'
The rest, I thought, this shoe man will never know.
Like just how thankful I really am... That his dirty old shoe touched my soul.
You are special to me and you have made a difference in my life.
