Pastor Jeremiah

"Behold I Come Quickly"

Question: "What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?"

Answer:
The rapture and the second coming of Christ are often confused. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether a scripture verse is referring to the rapture or the second coming. However, in studying end-times Bible prophecy, it is very important to differentiate between the two.

The rapture is when Jesus Christ returns to remove the church (all believers in Christ) from the earth. The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. Believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. This will all occur in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye. The second coming is when Jesus returns to defeat the Antichrist, destroy evil, and establish His millennial kingdom. The second coming is described in Revelation 19:11-16.

Revelation 22:7 - Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

The Bible is more than a history book as some would have us to believe, it is the inspired written word of God.  2 Timothy 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  The scripture tells us to study this book.

Matthew 24:4 Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Even though no man knoweth the hour that Jesus will return, the important point is that He is coming back.  Our present day conditions would make one think it could happen at any time.   Some of our so called leaders tell us that “Global Warming” is happening but I believe it is “Godly Warning”.  Wars, well we (USA) are involved in two current military actions.  Earthquakes, how many have occurred with devastating effects on life and nations.  Famine is killing thousands with no end in sight except Jesus coming back.  Iniquity and evil has taken God out of our schools, and trying to take Him out of our vocabulary.  The heathenistic discussion of hate speech if one preaches the Word of God.

Prayer Ministry

The one thing that holds this ministry and our work together is our prayer ministry headed up by Karen Page and the prayer team known as the Twelve Disciples.  Did you know that our prayer register has over 300 requests to date?  Each of the names is called out to the Lord everyday not just on Wednesday.  It is a humbling thing to call out 300 names to the Lord knowing that you need as much prayer as any of these names.  Many people will be touched by the Lord through Hands Up Ministry who otherwise might never attend church.

 MISSIONS AT WORK

INVESTMENT FOR AN ETERNITY

La Resolana Church, La Resolana, Mexico

Our mission trip to Mexico to build La Resolana was overwhelming to say the least.  Even though we only had six team members, God used us to minister to the church as well as the volunteer missionaries serving there. We left Richmond on my 62nd birthday, March 6th and returned on March 13th.  God is so good all the time.  I was blessed to have my daughter Michelle as a team member and was able to testify that she was there for God and not for her dad..  I wish I had the space to tell you about the 7000 souls that God promised would come to know Him through the vision of Pastor Reuben and because of the faithfulness of the additional funds that would be needed to complete the church.  HUM invested the original sum of $10,000 for the building and $1200 for the land.   The mother Church of Bella Vista invested $3000.   When I questioned when would the church be completed I was told that an additional $7000 would be needed to complete the church in a reasonable time.  After fasting and praying for directions, God gave me the answer to run with Pastor Reuben's vision according to Habakkuk 2.  God told me to have Pastor Reuben promise Him that he would complete the building in two months if God made the financial provision.  Then in our last service held in Bella Vista I had Pastor Reuben to ask the congregation of the mother church to make the same promise to God and the whole church came forward and as we closed out the service Karen and I (of all people) led the the worship with "How Great Is Our God".  God was faithful to His word and two contributors provided the $7000 and I mailed it to the Missionary the first Monday after we returned.

Pictures of trip are on the website and I hope to have the pictures of the completed church very soon for the website.

Why Did Jesus Fold the Napkin?

Why did Jesus fold the linen burial cloth after His resurrection? I never noticed this....

The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed separate from the grave clothes.

Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.

She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I
don't know where they have put him!'

Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see.. The other disciple outran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen
cloth lying there, but he didn't go in.

Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side.

Was that important? Absolutely!

Is it really significant? Yes!

In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition.

When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it..

The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished.

Now if the master were done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and
toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'.

But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because..........

The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!'

He is Coming Back!

"Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world There are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's
morning."

A minister parked his car in a no-parking zone in a large city because he was short of time and couldn't find a space with a meter.
Then he put a note under the windshield wiper that read: "I have circled the block 10 times. If I don't park here, I'll miss my appointment. Forgive us our trespasses."
When he returned, he found a citation from a police officer along with this note "I've circled this block for 10 years. If I don't give you a ticket I'll lose my job. Lead us not into temptation."
 ========
A minister waited in line to have his car filled with gas just before a long holiday weekend. The attendant worked quickly, but there were many cars ahead of him. Finally, the attendant motioned him toward a vacant pump.
"Reverend," said the young man, "I'm so sorry about the delay. It seems as if everyone waits until the last minute to get ready for a long trip."
The minister chuckled, "I know what you mean. It's the same in my business."

"Behold I Come Quickly - continued from page 1"

CAUTION:     Let no man deceive you. False Christ (messiahs) and false prophets (ministers) are everywhere.   So many call themselves representatives of the Lord only to fleece the flock and make a living off the sheep.  Many preach political correctness to itching ears instead of Biblical holiness.  (John 10:15 - As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.) “The shepherd must being willing to lay down his life for the sheep.”  (1 John 3:16 - Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.)

God spoke to Elijah when he was running scared.

1 Kings 19:11 Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: 12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.  (When you get by all the noise that the world offers then you can find God in the quietness of that still small voice.  Have you heard Him lately?)

The litmus test is simple:

John 10:14 - I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

A PASSION TO KNOW HIM

Philippians 3: 9 - 12

Dr. Charles Stanley says that you will know Christ in a deeper, more meaningful way if you are willing to:

·        Study Scripture:    This is where Christ is revealed, and it is the predominant method by which we hear from God.

·        Spend time alone with Him in prayer and meditation.  You can talk to Him, pouring out your praise, worship, concerns, and requests.  Take time to meditate on His truths and how to apply them to your life also is an opening for God to speak to you.

·        Be willing to trust Him.  Trusting Him for the outcome you must believe that whatever He leads you to do is for your best.

·        Be willing to obey Him.  Not only must you believe Him in His leading, but you must step out in faith and take the action toward which He has led you.

·        Observe how He works in your life and in others’ lives.  Keeping a journal will help you remember how faithful He has been to you and the people for whon you pray.

·        Look for evidence of Christ in every circumstance.  He controls all things and if you patiently and prayerfully wait on His timing, His work will be revealed.

·        Lay aside everything in life that conflicts with your loyalty and devotion to Him.  This includes sin, rebellion, and disobedience.
