The Shepherd Is Looking For You

In the following scriptures the Prophet Ezekiel was told to speak against the shepherds of Israel. This was figurative speech against shepherds (earthly pastors).

Ezekiel 34:2/6 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel,

prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

3 Ye eat the fat, and ye clothe you with the wool, ye kill them that are fed: but ye feed not the flock.

4 The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up that which was broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.

5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd: and they became meat to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill: yea, my flock was scattered upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

Notice in verse 4 the order which God addresses five issues.

1. The diseased

2. The sick

3. The broken

4. The scattered

5. The lost

God has pointed out why He has come against these shepherds. Now in the next few verses God tells them how the Good Shepherd takes care of the flock.

Ezekiel 34:11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.

12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep  that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.

16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

Notice in verse 16 the order in which God addresses the same five issues:

1. The lost

2. The scattered

3. The broken

4. The sick/diseased

God has reversed the order of priority.

Matthew 18:11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

John 11:52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.

Psalms 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Matthew 4:24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Prayer Ministry

The one thing that holds this ministry and our work together is our prayer ministry headed up by Deidre Schilling and the prayer team known as the Twelve Disciples.  Did you know that our prayer register has over 300 requests to date?  Each of the names is called out to the Lord everyday not just on Wednesday.  It is a humbling thing to call out 300 names to the Lord knowing that you need as much prayer as any of these names.  Many people will be touched by the Lord through Hands Up Ministry who otherwise might never attend church.

Mezcala 2014

Missions Trip To Mexico

My dream for 2015 is to return to Mezcala, Mexico and finish the church that was part of the vision of my friend Clinton Hendershot.  I need some people who would volunteer to go at their own expense and help finish this work of the Lord.

Pray for our churches in the Dominican Republic and Mexico

  • Villa Progresso Church, Dominican Republic

  • El Curro Church, Dominican Republic

  • La Resolana, Mexico

  • Mezcala, Mexico

Be missions minded not absent minded.

Keep praying for the vision.

Hands Up Christmas 2014

Review

Since 2000 the first year of ministry HUM has adopted at least one family to provide for their Christmas needs.  Each year that commitment has grown one additional family with the ministry.  As we are completing our fifteenth year of ministry we hope to adopt fifteen families through working with Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority.  In total with these fifteen families we will have provided a Christmas celebration for 28 families through Weed & Seed plus an additional 6 families through Chesterfield Christmas Mother and 4 at large families and 96 families through RR&HA.  To date 119 families have been blessed by God through Hands Up Ministry and that total has grown to 134 in 2014 with God's help.

A Hands Up Ministry team descended upon Gilpin Court on December 18th to minister to fifteen families with Christmas gifts and special prayer for each family and home.

I know it is becoming more and more difficult for us to provide Christmas for the families that we try to minister to but we are the light of the world to these families and Jesus wants us to be His ambassadors .

HE IS HERE

Jesus, I bless your name.  When everything falls apart you remain the same. I am here.  When I am so condemned in my mind, you are the breath of fresh air that says, Child I have loved you with an everlasting love.  I am here.  When I feel so unworthy, you come as the rainbow and tell me that you have plans for me.  I am here.  When the flesh feels it cannot go on, you come as sunshine and remind me that joy comes in the morning.  I am here.  Are any of you going through the valley; are you in the desert or in the wilderness?  I have been there for over seven weeks fighting the battle for my mind.  You see the enemy wants your mind and he will bombard you with the mind games that affect you through your health, your family, your church or anything where he can control.  He will tell you, "I told you so.”  Thank God the Word says that the Devil is a liar and the father of lies.  He has lied from the beginning.  Brothers and Sisters it is not about how we feel but what we know.  If we battle the enemy with our feelings, then we lose.  When we fight with what we know then we win.  We know that we have one that sticketh closer that a Brother (Sister).  We know we have an advocate with the Father.  We know we have one that paid the price for everything we are not,  in order that He might make us more than we can be.  Would you let Him make you everything that you cannot be and step out in faith and do that which He has been encouraging you to do that will glorify Him.  Thanks to everyone who prayed for me while I have been sick.  There is purpose in suffering.  "Pain without purpose is just pain.  Pain with a purpose has a promise."  I am looking forward for the promise and I do it for the joy.  God Bless you my family of God.

He Saw You

(author unknown)

Once before the foundation of the world,

Jesus and His Father had a conversation

about the great plan of redemption.

That conversation included you.

Jesus looked down the corridors of time

and knew that you would be born.

He saw your needs when

He said to His Father, "I will go."

At the Father’s appointed time, Jesus came

to earth so that you would never

need to be far from Him. What an incredible

journey He made; what an awesome purpose

He had in mind. You were on His heart.

When He left His home in heaven,

He saw you; When He became a man on earth,

He was seeking you; When He stretched out

His hands upon the cross, He was reaching out

to you; When He returned to His Father,

He was preparing a place for you. He has called

you to shepherd His people. He is the one who

Keeps you, upholds you, and gives you strength,

You are the one He calls His own.
