COMMITMENT AS A CHRISTIAN

(Amplified by God's Word)

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. (1 Corinthians 1:9 - God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord)

I have Holy Spirit Power. (2 Timothy 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God)

The die has been cast. (Mark 12:44 - For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.)

I have stepped over the line. (Psalms 44:18 - Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way.)

The decision has been made. (Joshua 24:15b & d - Choose you this day whom ye will serve; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.)

I am a disciple of His. (Acts 11:26 -. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.)

I will not look back, (Luke 9:62 - And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.)

let up, (Luke 2:49 - And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business.)

slow down, (Psalms 42:1 - As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.)

back away, (Job 23:12 - Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.)

or be still. (Galatians 6:9 - And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.)

My past is redeemed, (1 Peter 1:18 - Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.)

my present makes sense, (Luke 18:30 - Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.)

my future is secure. (1 Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.)

I am finished and done with low living, (Colossians 3:2 - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.)

sight-walking, (2 Corinthians 5:7 - For we walk by faith, not by sight.)

small planning, (Ephesians 3:20 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.)

smooth knee, (Ephesians 3:14 - For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ)

colorless dreams, tamed visions, (Acts 2:17 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.)

worldly talking, (Ephesians 5:4 - Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.)

cheap giving, (Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. 2 Corinthians 9:7 - Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.)

and dwarfed goals. ( Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus)

I no longer need preeminence, (John 3:30 - He must increase, but I must decrease.)

prosperity, (3 John 1:2 - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.)

position, (1 Corinthians 12:18 - But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.)

promotion, (Luke 1:52 - He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.)

or popularity. (Luke 17:25 - But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.)

I do not have to be right, (Proverbs 16:25 - There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.)

first, (Matthew 20:16 - So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.)

tops, (1 Corinthians 10:12 - Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.)

recognized, (Matthew 6:1 - Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them.)

praised, (John 12:43 - For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.)

regarded, (Psalms 102:17 - He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.)

or rewarded. (Matthew 16:27 - For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.)

I now live by faith, (Romans 1:17 - For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.)

lean on His presence, (Micah 3:11 - The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? )

walk by patience, (Romans 8:25 - But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.)

am uplifted by prayer, (John 17:9 - I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.)

and labor by power. (1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.)

My face is set, (Job 22:26 - For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.)

my gait is fast, (Hebrews 12:1 - Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.)

and my goal is heaven. (Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God.)

My road is narrow, my way rough, (Matthew 7:14 - Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.)

my Guide reliable, (Psalms 48:14 - For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.)

my mission clear. (Matthew 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.)

I cannot be bought, (1 Corinthians 4:2 - Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.)

compromised, (Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.)

detoured, (Hebrews 12:13 - And make straight paths for your feet.)

lured away, (James 1:14 - But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.)

turned back, (Mark 13:16 - And let him that is in the field not turn back.)

deluded, (Galatians 6:7 - Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.)

or delayed. (Hebrews 9:27 - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.)

I will not give up, (Matthew 10:22 - And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.)

shut up, (Psalms 107:2 - Let the redeemed of the LORD say so.)

or let up. (Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.)

I will go on until He comes, (John 14:3 - And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.)

and work until He stops me. (John 9:4 - I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. Revelation 22:12 - And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.)
